DDC REGULAR

The SAE Drone Development Challenge (DDC) features Regular Category that challenges teams to design aircraft capable of carrying high payloads while adhering to specific constraints.

Its total weight must not exceed 4 kg, with combined length, breadth, and height limited to 150 inches, and the wingspan capped at 72 inches. The competition is divided into multiple stages, each with a specific points system. These include: Design Report: Teams present their technical documentation, displaying innovation and showcasing their skills. Presentation Round: Participants explain their approach, design choices, and problem-solving methods to judges. Flight Round: Drone are tested for performance, stability, and payload delivery in real-world scenarios.

The distributed scoring system ensures a holistic evaluation, testing both technical knowledge and practical execution. This structure encourages teamwork, innovation, and attention to detail, offering participants a comprehensive learning experience in UAV development.
